Happy Spring!

I trust that you all are enjoying this fabulous weather. The children love going to the playground to play on these fine days of spring. Please think about their shoe choices since the mulch tends to get into their sandals and and they  have trouble climbing in flip flops. We have also been drawing with chalk in the drive through and  the bubble machine is a huge hit. Lots of squeals and giggles!
Our spring break begins next Friday , April 6th. I hope you have plans to spend some valuable family time together.
We had a fun filled egg hunt. I took lots of photos. We're continuing our unit on Easter this upcoming week. Jackson Lee's mom will be giving our Easter party.

Other important upcoming dates to mark on your calendar are:

April  26- Class Photos

May 2- Family Picnic

May 6- Child Enrichment Sunday   We're practicing our songs daily.

One more reminder. Their are limited spaces available for the summer session. The session is from June 5- July 26. Let us know if you're interested and we'll get the necessary information to you.

Happy Easter!

Our Bible verse for February is Galatians 5:13. Serve each other with love. Ask your children. Most of them hav memorized . The duration and frequency of circle time has increased. They're memorizing the songs we sing during chapel  and eagerly participate. We had our first music class this past week. It was fabulous. Lots of dancing and singing. Next month, the teacher will add instruments.

Registration for next year is now open to the public. Most of the classes are almost full. If you haven't enrolled your child, don't hesitate any longer!

Festival of Friends is March 1. It's going to be a fun filled evening. Our class has created something adorable for the auction. We are also busy making table decorations and wall art. Don't miss it! Mark your calendars!

March 2 is a scheduled teacher workday. School will be closed.

On a sad note, Levi's last day will be Tuesday. His family is moving to Texas. We are excited for them but, will miss him terribly.

Our new friend, Sowrish, is settling in to our routine nicely and is a wonderful addition to the group.

Please encourage your children to keep all toys and blankets at home. There are usually tears when we put the items in their cubbies. We just can't keep up with it all and the children don't usually want others to play with their special things.

Please encourage your children to become more independent. I know it's easier to do things for them but, they need to learn. We are drinking from small open cups.  No more sippy cups. We're encouraging them to take off their coats and put their things away. If their shoes come off, we have them put it back on. The majority of them can do it and are proud of their independence!

Upcoming units: circus, dental health, and shapes.

We're love your children! They are so special to us!

Happy New Year!

Melissa and I heard all about the wonderful Christmas that all of you had. Not only did they tell us what Santa brought, they already have a list for next year!
We were ready to see our wee ones. We completed our CPR renewal for this year on Monday and prepared our classrooms for their arrival Tuesday.

The next couple of weeks we'll talk about cold weather, snow, snowmen, and winter animals. Perhaps we will see a few flakes. Today we're going to have a snowman snack.  They'll munch on marshmallows, raisins, shredded carrots, and pretzels. I found some snowman cookies and snowflake suckers too.
We'll fingerpaint in shaving creme (pretend snow). We have lots of snow fun ahead....now we just need some SNOW!

Praying that you will all be blessed this coming year!

Our little fish are swimming into December with lots of fun filled mornings! We're talking about the birth of Jesus and playing with a child friendly nativity set. They're not sure about it but, we're laying the groundwork. So much with the two's ,and now threes, is basic introduction. We're dancing to The Reindeer Hokey Pokey daily. Ask them to do it for you. It's sure to get giggles all around! Our art is centering around the Christmas theme. We've also been working with large plastic tweezers to strengthen their little hands. They use them to pick up foam peanuts.  They also enjoy scooping rice and finding hidden toys in it. Time is devoted every day to fine motor skills.

A few important dates to remember:
Dec. 9th-  school closes at 11:00
Dec. 14- Pajama Day!!! Breakfast with Santa!!!
Dec. 16th- last day of school

We love your children. They bring such joy to our lives!
Love,

The year is passing quickly and we have seen many changes in your children. More of them are using the potty, circle time is longer, they are memorizing songs, and sharing more readily without intervention. We are encouraging them to become more independent.

We would like to welcome our new friend, Maddie to our room. She is adorable and our sweet children are excited to have a new friend!

I hope that all of you will attend our Thanksgiving program on the 17th .  Even if your child doesn't come to school on Thursdays. They have practiced their songs every day and made their own costumes. You don't want to miss this event. Bring a covered dish and come join the festivities!

Don't
forget the Barnes and Noble Bookfair on the 18th and 19th. The children will have art on exhibit. Thanks so much for your participation in our fundraising.

School will be closed from the 23rd-25th for the  Thanksgiving holiday.

May you all have a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving!

We've had a wonderful month getting to know each other. Aiden has joined our class and so has a visiting friend, Gaby. We're continuing to encourage potty training with stickers, cheers, and treats. Thanks to Aiden's mom for the M&Ms, tissues, and hand sanitizer. Those items are always  useful. We also use a lot of baby wipes if anyone would like to send a pack of those. They're great for little hands after art projects, little faces after snack... I could go on and on about the many uses of wipes!
The month of October will  be all about fall, Halloween, scarecrows, and pumpkins. The pumpkin patch will come to us Each child will choose their own special pumpkin. We'll trick or treat at school. The children will design their costumes during art time. Jackson's mom is in charge of our  class Halloween party.
We'll also have a week of  learning all about community helpers. Firemen will visit and we'll get to see the  equipment  they wear and their fire truck.
We'll focus on the color orange, triangles, the number 2, and the letter P.
If your child stays for extended day, please  put an ice pack in their lunch box. We have a limited amount of space  in the refrigerator.
Please discourage your children from bringing toys and sippy cups to school. They usually don't want to share a toy from home and the other children don't understand. There are sometimes tears when Melissa and I have to put the toys in backpacks. We have lots of toys at school and change them weekly. The sippy cups get spilled or another child tries to drink it. We offer juice at snack time or water anytime they're thirsty. They must sit in their chair while drinking. This prevents sharing and spilling. We are careful about our children that have allergies and don't want someone drinking something they're allergic to. Thanks so much!
Feel free to call me if you have any questions or concerns. My # is 336-687-0416
We just love your children. We're enjoying each and every moment with them. They're such special little gifts from God.

We had a fabulous first week at school!  Very few tears and lots of giggles.  The children enjoy playing with each other. Their  favorite time of  day is going downstairs to ride bikes. We hope to go outside more this week, weather permitting. We have a wonderful playground.
This past week we got to know each other through songs and games. The children made a book about themselves. Most of them took theirs home on Friday. The others will be sent home on Monday.
This week we will learn all about apples. Ms. Melissa and I have lots of activites planned.
Remember to link your Harris Teeter VIC card to our school. Our number is 4990. We greatly appreciate it!
It's that sneezy time of year and we could  use some tissues if any of you would like to donate some. Hand sanitizer would be great also!
We're encouraging  the children  to use  the potty. They each have a little fishbowl on the wall and when they sit on the potty they can choose a  fish sticker. If  they actually go, they can choose a Skittle or an M and M! They are really doing well with this ,so... we could use some more Skittles or M and Ms too!
Thanks for returning their folders and book bags daily.
We're enjoying the children. They are such a happy little group. I can't wait to see them again this week!

Welcome to a new school year!
Ms. Melissa and I will be the teachers for the older twos. We have been busy preparing our classroom for our little school of fish. We have lots planned already and look forward to days filled with fun learning adventures.

Please send diapers or pull ups and wipes. We will encourage using the potty. We have little fish bowls and stickers posted for each child.
We would love to have a family photo to keep at school this year.
Please send a cup with a lid. As the year progresses, we'll stop using the lids and practice drinking like a big kids!
